Erin Gilbert, MD, PhD

Dr. Gilbert is known for her extensive training in all areas of dermatology and has a particular interest in the category of cosmeceuticals and the mechanism of action of dermal fillers and neuromodulators.  Using her training as a PhD in neuroscience she has explored numerous off-label uses for neuromodulators in treating medical dermatological conditions. She is an accomplished author who has published numerous scientific and clinical publications.

 

Dr. Gilbert received her undergraduate degree from Barnard University and her medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate, where she also performed her residency in dermatology as a chief resident. She received her PhD in neuroscience from State University of New York Downstate. She then performed her internship in internal medicine at NYU Medical Center.

 

She is an active board member and Chair of Fundraising for the Women’s Dermatologic Society, for which she was awarded the President’s Award at the Academy of Dermatology meeting in March 2017. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the New York Stem Cell Foundation

 

Most recently, Dr. Gilbert was appointed the first US-based Consulting Dermatologist for L’Oreal brand, Vichy Laboratoires, providing her with an opportunity to share her expertise and skincare philosophies with patients and consumers alike.
